Clearing My Head From the Noise

I may be back in a few months. I made two mistakes in the past week. The noise is getting distracting. They weren't critical mistakes... But minor setbacks, to say the least. I made two awesome plays in past three months. Went from .23 to .60 on Adventus and 4.60 to 5.75 on Silvercorp and picking up dividends end of June all based on DD.  I bought a few WRN shares at $2 CDN and sold them at $1.90. First time I ever sold a single share in WRN. Made this stupid choice based Paul's self-serving actions and noise on this board. Staying away from the noise for a while. Need a break.

Steve - can you share Pauls recent transaction, along with unrestricted share count over time? I sent him an email asking similar ---- as last year at this time he stated selling trnasactions were related to tax reasons...but that we should look at his unrestricted share count over time...mentioned it is always increasing. So i sent him an email asking similar....

On the 21st of May, Paul West-Sells sold around 125k shares on-market at roughly CA$2.09 per share. ($261k worth of stock). This transaction amounted to 12% of their direct individual holding at the time of the trade.  This was the largest sale by an insider in the last 3 months. Paul has been a net seller over the last 12 months, reducing personal holdings by CA$346k. Keep it in ...more

Some feedback  --- Paul has increased his holding in WRN from 390k shares in 2019 to 880k shares today. You should always consider the amount of holdings AFTER transactions --- if someone is given 200k options with a strike price of $1.5 and they exercise at $2.0....generally speaking they sell enough shares to cover taxes. So after the tranacton if they sell 200k shares but net an incrase ...more

Sooner Thanks for sharing the feed back from Paul. When Paul states, "'Absolutely, still a believer – not many CEO’s stay around for 9 months to ensure a smooth transition!" Does this mean he is leaving "smooth transition"  I thought Paul was staying on ? M2

Thanks for sharing Paul's point of view. He isn't staying for free; he has been and continues to be compensated over $1 million annually. Claiming that he is volunteering to stay is pure hubris. The bottom line is that the increase in share count since June 2023 is misleading. He is a net seller, selling more shares than he receives. He is not being entirely honest by saying it's for ...more

Marine, you are right! Whether it's $6 or 10, let's get this over. I am not getting any younger either. For that matter, any of us could kick the bucket any day. That is not a pessimistic view, but a dose of reality. Life (or death) happens.

You have misrepresented my statement. I am not suggesting that he should stay without fair compensation; everyone deserves to be paid appropriately. What I am highlighting is the arrogance in his claim that he is staying out of goodwill. I can assure you that if he had a better offer elsewhere, he wouldn't still be here.

I was abroad and missed a few days here, so I was surprised to hear about your decision to take a step back, EvenSteven27. Taking a break sounds like a wise decision to regain focus. Your insights and well-balanced perspective on WRN will be missed, and I look forward to your return when you're ready—hopefully next week!
