I'm starting to think this is due to the political issue,  we know the Chinese have the money or at least the backup money to finish this project.

Its looking like a wait and see thing on the current Canada/Chinese standoff.

If things were to deteriorate as it has in Australia, Chinese investment will be curtailed.

classicact, I sure hope both the federal and provincial governments are looking into the foreign ownership loopholes of the provinces precious resources. The Chinese are very good at foward thinking strategy and have their fingers in a lot of assets throughout the country. They could easily pay out the outstanding debts owed by Western to its contractors, but are not doing it to date Why not
