TD up, XTD not so much

I'm guessing TD still has to go up a couple of dollars, maybe to $86, before XTD commons get their dividend.

From the Holdings of Oct 31 looks like   NAV @ $12.50   needs TD > $86.40 Oct 31    $82,846,538   Cash- 35%   Equity- 65%  TD- $77.46  695,200.74  TD shares   XTD - 7,125,160  units

I thought surely when TD hits $90 CAD that XTD would start getting divvies.  I crunched some numbers and I'm coming up short of the magic $12.50.  Hopefully my math was very very wrong.  GLTA.

I did some basic math and I think the magic number is $90 Sept 13 NAV $11.87 with TD closing at $84.54 that day Today TD closed at $87.32 so a gain od 3.29%. If you increase the NAV of XTD by 3.29% I get a current NAV of $12.26. If TD were at $90 that would be an increase of 5.46% from Sept 13 which would increase the NAV of XTD to $12.52.  TD goes ex dividend soon so that should actually ...more

According to Theerock back in November XTD was 35% in cash so the NAV won't go up as quickly as the TD share price.  $90 might not do it.  I do own some TD shares so I am enjoying that ride at the moment.

Coincides with the TD Chart. Here's a look at the 3 month chart. I also think TD was active in their share Buyback program. XTD chart lag affect starting to wear off and heading higher. IMO

can you calculate it like that? the impact on A shares is leveraged so not sure its 1 to 1, at least not with other spltis. Also the ramp up of premium to nav increases as it approaches pay zone, in normal times, many A shares splits are 15-20% over nav. My guess is nav is at least 13 if not 13.25, but why the heck haven't they updated the nav page, right, it's quadravest!

You're correct about the covered calls. This is from the prospectus... "The Company invests in common shares of the Bank (the “Portfolio”). To supplement the dividends earned on those common shares and to reduce risk, the Company will from time to time write covered call options in respect of all or a part of common shares of the Bank that it holds. The number of such common shares that ...more
