Notes from The Ballgame
My son's high school band played the national anthem on the field at the St Louis Cardinals game last night. Throughput seems to be more of a priority these days. A couple technology updates I noticed: (1) When going through the metal detectors, the staff directed us to go through with our pockets full (sensors set at a lower level?). And they had 2 staff at each metal detector ready to search through bags, more than I've seen before. (2) At the regular food stations, everything was automated: all the food was pre-made and the customers put the items on a platform that scanned the order and allowed self check-out. (3) The stadium basically did away with draft beer.
Note all these things helped reduce staff and time in lines except one: the increased staff at the metal detectors. You know these stadiums are chomping at the bit to increase throughput and bring down the staff there - while increasing saftey.
This weekend, I went to get my daughter a smoothie and both Rush Bowls and Smoothie King were closed at 6:30pm on a Sunday, one with a sign that said closed today due to staffing challenges. Finding staff is a real challenge in St Louis right now.
Xtract One is in the right place at the right time.

That is so true - I just cant focus on anything or even think about the potential anymore before we get the dhs. Its holding us from entering venues like you described. What an experince this Cardinals situation would ve been with X1 on duty!

Another way to look at DHS long, slow certification: any competitors would have to go through the same rigorous, lengthy process. So if XTRA comes out with DHS Certification at the end of all this, every day longer the process takes expands XTRA’s competitive moat.
