Peter Evans replied to an IPVM article

I found this in one of the Facebook groups

Peter Evans made a comment.
Hi Nikita,
I appreciate you taking the time to write this story, and I hope that you can join us at GSX for the product reveal where more details will be made available as part of the launch event.
For now, let me share a few quick insights in response to your article.
I agree with you that all solutions from all competitors, including us, have struggled with the ability to accurately detect weapons without alerting on larger amounts of metal objects. Laptops being the most notable. This has lead to challenges in places like schools where every child has a laptop, and that has lead to either lowering the sensitivity (compromising security and allowing in weapons), acrobatics such as holding laptops about head (Heck, I can't get my teenager to clean her room let alone hold her laptop above her head every day!), or other work-arounds.
Technology providers should be delivering solutions to solve problems in an elegant manner. Instead, what the above highlights is customers having to work around the shortcomings of technology.
We are changing that. We see ourselves as leading with innovation, and as such are delivering a solution that is designed to not alert on laptops and much larger amounts of metal clutter, while still alerting on weapons, and more specifically, and uniquely, identifying the type of weapon ("Gun", "Knife")
This is innovation, not simply settings adjustment.
Both SmartGateway and OneGateway have unique features that make them aligned more closely to different market segment needs and priorities

I love that he took the opportunity to address this issue right before the big reveal at GSX with IPVM. These guys are tough to please and need to be aware of this huge advancement in the technology. If you can get them to somewhat acknowledge this is a good thing it would be like getting another DHS approval. Developing this technology did not just happen over night. They have been working on ...more

Good points golden. Talking about testing and retesting, I bet they have this "anchor" account already with whom they have been testing it to be perfect for presumably schools. Hopefully they have trials going on already. They have recently done some marketing towards schools, webinar, articles etc. Now its harvesting time and get everybody to sign into this. Would be in interesting to ...more

What has really become apparent to me is that Evolv just does not have the AI capabilities that Xtract has. They would not have not come up with just an Xray machine to check bags instead of developing an AI solution as we have. I also believe they had a pretty good idea Xtract was coming out with their AI solution as they quickly introduced their xray machine just before we announced ours ...more

Glad to see the product was given a more marketing-friendly name than just "Gateway". Hopefully, OneGateway will become as recognizable as iPhone someday.
