2.6 million shares short

Oil ran up extremely fast. Seems to me these shorts are trapped when you look at the thin level 2 and the very low average daily volume.. What does it take to gap this up 20-30%?  YGR is lagging behind CPG , MEG , CVE etc..

A close above 1.20 either today or tomorrow would be lovely momentum wise... Not over shorts...game is not over...

Is BMO the short seller here?
Comment by kavern23 on Mar 25, 2021 12:24pm
No...I think BMO is a friend to YGR...been accumulating for awhile on buy side even at 1.25-1.30... I suspect the shorters trade though  Anonymous, CIBC, National...maybe more. A account through National Bank is shorting a ton of juniors

Ok thanks. Watching close here, as short interest ticked up. I like how it's holding now... Just need oil to settle and we should be fine
Comment by kavern23 on Mar 26, 2021 12:15pm
Wow...looks like the shorters are back at er..another 40k block at 1.19... Not too concerned...been buying today. YGR is netbacking 28 bucks a barrel plus right now...CF will be over a dollar a share if these prices hold. GL al

Disappeared anyways. Haha. Looking good for a 1.20+ close. I got a few more this morning too.

I guess the upside of the huge YGR short count is it provides us protection on down days...short covering is likely keeping a floor on our price.... Or insiders are buying again...time will tell but so far so good on a bad oil day....

Good catch. But this is not the first time this happens with YGR. Given that nat gas has corrected lately and YGR is nat gas weighted, its performance is largely dependent on nat gas, not oil.

Stockfy I respectfully disagree with you. Depending on the quarter...the price of oil is much much more vital then Natural Gas. People get too caught up on our % of liquids without considering the business plan or the production profile of our wells...and most importantly payback periods per well.  In Q1 and Q2 of 2021...price oil is so much more important then gas as we have 5 to 7 wells to ...more

Stockfy one of the reasons Spartan Delta bought new property is they likely realize they can't drill pure dry natural gas wells and have a decent payback period at even 3 dollar gas. Notice isn't a boom in natural has drilling at 3 dollar gas? Already paid off wells spin decent cashflow at 3 dollar NG but you can't do 3-5M wells on pure natural gas at 3 bucks....you need such killer ...more

Stockfy one of the things I have been trying to wrap my head around is how YGR managed to avoid an impairment charge...I mean almost every company did in Q2 in 2020 when the future price decks for commodites went into the sh*tter..... Ironically (in my opinion)  it is likely NG price deck that saved us and helped us avoid the impairment....and also our low cost structure. Our wells after ...more

Take this example: "In Q1 and Q2 of 2021...price oil is so much more important then gas as we have 5 to 7 wells to tie in. But here is why price of oil is more critical....during the first three months of production...lots of our wells will do 30,000 barrels of oil in cumulative production. At 70 bucks CAD for oil...that is 2.1M back on a 3.2 M well. But at 50 bucks CAD that is 1.5M ...more
