Petrus numbers out

They look ok if you ignore how they got there.

The interesting thing for me about Petrus update (and January update issued at end of Feb) is they make no mention of North Ferrier boomer wells. Even the January update at end of Feb mentioned JV wells expected to come online in March.  Hard to be an optimist after seeing YGR lag by 75% but would suggest to me PRQ would have a minor stake in the Ferrier boomer wells and YGR would own most ...more

I understand why Petrus tardes at a premium to Yangarra. They are already at a good debt/cashflow multiple and paying a 9% dividend too boot. This is where we could be if we could just get the debt payed down. We really blew a great opportunity with poor well results last year. Lets hope the chatter is true that we have turned the corner on this years wells. Yangarra has higher production more ...more

Petrus as a comparator to ygr is a joke. NAV PDP for Petrus is $1.45/ share while ygr is $3.76.  Shows the power of a regular dividend in buoying up the share price. Much lower FFO per share for PRQ and EPS yet trades at about 25% higher. Ygr is definitely off the radar and in the penalty box.

Bad on them for screwing the debt holders and the company in general. But you have to give a little respect back for the fact that they put their own (family) money in, got production numbers up and the company is financially ...more

Rex...how can you be critical of Petrus yet Pinecliff is this amazing company. Both Pinecliff and Petrus got hammered from 2015 to 2019 as AECO gas prices were brutal. Pne fell from 2 dollar to 13 cents in 2019. Pne is just ballooning share outstanding buying old assets every few years...until the weight of reclaimation obligations plus low prices crush PNE stock price once again. It was a ...more

Kavern I don't think I was really critical of PRQ?  Took a shot at them for jobbing the second lien holders sure, but through a bit of respect their way for putting in their own money, some drilling success, stabilizing the company and getting ratios under control. Lots of non-arms length activity there but as far as I know all above board. Again, though, you completely misunderstand ...more
