Over 550k shares shorted in back half of May. Helps explain the crazy decline. A third of volume was shorting. A reverse ncib on steroids. 

Not sure why someone wants to short this at a buck. The risk reward seems questionable.

Thanks for posting that Helloworld. definitely not good news. Last time ygr had shorts doing the bltizgeig splitz they were really deranged shorts. Some of these shorters are mentally deranged individuals. I personally wouldn't short anything in junior space. but what could these shorters be going on...obviously likely aeco prices.   Aeco is 80 cents. Two months too early for

Or the new shorter in ygr is going long in aeco and shorting ygr at same time... Covered either way. Aeco goes down from 80 cents spot price and near month contact... this investor likely makes on the ygr short. Or if aeco goes up from 80 cents to say 1.50-2.00...the losses on the ygr short are more than offset by profits from going long on aeco contracts. actually a good trade if can get cheap

Agreed that shorting this stock at this price could backfire gloriously. The lack of liquidity alone would make this a bad choice for any pair trade so I assume it's just a speculative short. I think shorting this stock is a desire to live dangerously so it will be interesting for sure.

Keep  in  mind  there are computer  generated so called momentum  traders  that  go  thru  CIBC  for virtually no commision   so   this  type   of   " trader"  could  often  be content   to make a penny or two or  alternately  reverse  themselves  on

Nymex NG was up over 5% today to over 3.3 and now is up 0%.  Some trader lost 5% or more as they use leverage in like 90 mins. Wild out there.

Cliff..look at the articial intelligence boom in USA...just festers and booms and booms...with no end in sight other than people throwing capital at it. Isnt the profits to match from AI but nobody cares. When nobody cares that is usually an ugly sign.
