What a dull boring summer

I was wrong by about two months and counting on natty prices seeing the low in the spring shoulder season. Maybe correct for the U.S. but not AECO.

I see CJ is back over 10.5% for a yield. Probably a fantastic buy. Like the modular approach to building out 6000 barrel sagd facilities. Templates are good.

Baytex finally restarted the buybacks. 6 million shares  bought  back in June - stock hasn't reacted much yet

BNE is drilling their Charlie lake wells 2-3 days faster than forecast - not sure when completions are scheduled.

LCX holding. Would have expected a bit more movement and  more news.

cheap gas really wrecks the momentum.

Rex...natural gas looks quite rough for rest of summer.  USA had abnormal heat in June and last year July and August were hot, NG production has adapted to this in USA. Finally NG exports from Canada are 1 bcf higher than last year. It's wierd lots of rigs got unrigged in Western Canada. 65 rigs drilling for NG what the heck for??? Jan 2025 is like under 3 bucks now for Aeco. Kelt ...more

Eventually Penny. Too bad about prices today.  Kav I think this is the challenge. Producers try to time when demand will pick up then there is a hiccup somewhere - LNG facilities delayed or offline a month or two all of a sudden short term gas is looking for a new home.  Genesee gas conversion behind schedule, suncor behind schedule the list goes on... Likely LNG Canada partners ...more

The problem is Asia is taking a lot of lng and that could start to hurt oil demand. Things that can't be electrified easily like shipping and trucking their using lng as fuel instead of bunker oil or diesel. China especially. China is electrifying cars and light duty and lng the stuff they can't battery. I wouldn't be celebrating lots of lng going to China as expectations are so high ...more

A lot of the demand from ai centres is offset by technology improvements in lightening. before led lights, those old light bulbs used to eat wattage. Homes using bulbs used to use 700 watts of lightening for kitchen and tv room/living area compared to 50-60 watts in total for new led light bulbs. The growth in USA power demand has been the ac usage but the minute it isn't crazy hot in the USA ...more
