New mining Exec

ELKO — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko has a new friend in town, Guy Simpson, who recently relocated to the area to accept a position as General Manager of Yukon-Nevada Gold Corporation’s Jerritt Canyon mine site.

“Yukon-Nevada is very explicit in terms of its corporate responsibilities to community. We not only have a corporate commitment, but also unwritten duties to provide support to our local communities. Personally, I take this very, very seriously,” Simpson said.

I think it's wonderful that YNG is supporting the Elko Boys & Girls club. At the same time I wonder how they can believe anyone in town buys this corporate responcibility/unwritten duty stuff when they know Yukon Nevada Gold
has yet to pay their former employees. In effect not supporting pushing 400 families.

This story is big news in Elko and everyone I've talked to here isn't buying the good will thing until they pay their former emplyees.
