monument mining/YNG

Romara mentioned the prospect of a merger between Monument and YNG yesterday.

I looked closer at Monument Mining and its prospects in Malaysia. I was surprised to discover that Malaysia is indeed one of those rare entities: a stable Islamist country. MM seems to be definitely on the right track, with essentially the same people running it as YNG -- if I find one management group credible, then the other is as well.

 

Question is, although both companies have adjoining offices at 688 West Hastings, what would be gained by Monument  absorbing/merging with YNG?  It would be less susceptible to a hostile takeover?  The combination would be more attractive to a friendly takeover?

 

Just wondering...

YNG already has a poison pill in place, so they should be projected from a hostile take-out.  IMO YNG would benefit more from a deal with someone mining in the regions they also mine in.  I don't know how a merger between YNG and Monumnet would be very synergistic quite honestly.  I say go with someone that can take work with you at Jerritt Canyon and maximize what the ...more

What's the nature of this toxic YNG medicine?   Would the same poison pill protect Monument from hostiles if they merged? Both companies have the same majority owners.

If YNG and Monument merged under YNG, then I would only guess the poison pill would cover  the combined entity.  Just my guess only.
