layoffs

i agree they should lay off some more workers. It is costing the company money and not putting pressure on the powers that are making the decisions.

............................... They should lay off everyone except essential mine maintenance staff, that would likely put the required pressure on the gov't to get things sorted out.

Just so hard to believe the snails pace of courts they asked for more info weeks ago, they recieved then what? I agree lay everybody off.

Perhaps you could put some trust in management for a change. They are the ones well informed about the whole situation and have a capacity to solve this once for and for all. It is in their best interest. And I believe it is in the best interest of Guatemala. But the structures of power are very much different than those in so called femocratic coumntries and sicieties. A lot of us do not think it is matter of trust despite "getting it in the neck" by the LSG takeover a couple of years back. I think it is more of a "find ways to put pressure on the government" to get this issue resolved.

After losing my St. Andrews and Lakeshore stock to the ridiculous Tahoe takeover I posted that this would be a disaster. I put the proceeds into my Kirkland Lake position. Unfortunately Tony Makusch is there but Sprott has him on a short leash. My sincere sympathies. Don't blame the Guatemalans. This situation was evident when this stupid deal was done.

As far as I know most of their employees have short term contracts, so the company can lay them off without paying severance. This is part of the agreement, I think. I read it somewhere.
