.8381 conversion for Tilray shares

Was the conversion   accurate  for you ?

Ie  ..   if I had  10,000  shares  now I should have  8381  shares   ?
I finally got to see my wife's  and my investments  on Td  WEB brokers,,and after  I did the conversion  for the number of shares we have after using the .8381  it seemed off ..

It could be me not calculating correctly,, just curious if anybody had the same problem  ?

That is correct. What is the average share price you get if you were averaged in at 18.77. The 18.77 is my average.
Comment by Vegas63 on May 08, 2021 8:22pm
Thanks  Shazam  I thought after I multiplied  my number of shares by  .8381    and then compared  the number of shares the TD  bank gave me didn't matchup..   probably  I did  the math wrong  ..
Comment by Vinny57 on May 08, 2021 11:56pm
Hi Shaz.  I'll weigh in on this one for you. If your average price of APHA shares was $18.77 Canadian, your new break even price for the new Tilray is $22.40 Canadian.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 1:21am
Can you tell me how you calcutated that? Do you know what the price of the shares were at close is on the 30th?
Comment by Vinny57 on May 09, 2021 3:38am
Sure. Simply take $18.77 and divide by .8381. That gives you $22.40.  It is the same as starting with $22.40 and multiplying by .8381 which will give you $18.77. Aphria shares closed at about $15.38 Canadian on the 30th. Hope this helps.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 8:19am
I think you are missing something. The exchange ratio of the 15.38 needs to be taken into effect.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 8:35am
My average says it is 19.35. Now I did call TD up to place an order and I sold 100 shares. That was on Wednesday and did some small trades with those funds on Thursday. Was lucky to have gotten in at 17.03 and sold those on friday but it wasn't a lot that I did. I guess either way. At least I still have my shares. with a little cash to play with.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 8:47am
On my activity page in web broker. It says 480 aphria shares were dispersed and the value was 7803. That same day the Tilray shares showed up at the same value was asigned. So you take 7803 divided by 402 tilray shares and there is the 19.40 average. My new 19.35 average was cause I did those little trades.

Hi Vinny and Shazam57 Vinny that $15.38 you mentioned was the closing price in usd not cdn for APHA on April 30th APHA  Cdn closed at $18.88 on April 30th Tilray Usd closed at $18.34 on April 30th APHA Usd closed at $15.38 on April 30th Also Shazam57 FWIW if you are still trying to figure things out since the merger APHA closed at $16.55 cdn on May 4th TILRAY closed at $16.10 on May 4th ...more

Yes Cent. You are correct.  It was pretty late when I looked up that info last night for Shaz. As I revisit the sites I see it was US.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 4:39pm
Vinny, I see we both were up late. Either way, it's all good at the end of the day.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 4:37pm
Thanks Centre but I got it all figured.
Comment by Ronbromleygross on May 09, 2021 2:44pm
You are exactly correct Vinny My average price on the tsx Aphria shares was $19.10 pre merger.  it is now $22.70 post merger not the end of the world as even $22.70 will be a distant memory in due time. if we get a pullback of any material amount I will certainly look to add to my positions.  We could get a brief pullback after last Friday's nice gains (profit taking by the ...more

Odd, irrelevant to what your Aphria average shares is/was, within the last few days, via this merger you have lost $3,080 per 1000 APHA shares, so, what makes this OK? Put differently (make things simpler) per thousand Aphria shares, the share price is now $15,85. Hurray! How beneficial for Aphria’s shareholder! Lovely, negotiated merger…… Make sure this case’s Grand negotiator doesn’t negotiate ...more

Vegas, I hold 3 TD Waterhouse accounts and when doing the conversion (X .8381) they all came out exactly as shown in my accounts.  I'm not sure why your's did not. Perhaps you need to give them a call.
Comment by Vegas63 on May 09, 2021 8:41am
Thanks Vinny For responding to my question,,  I will try calculating again... if all else will call Td WEB brokers.  Monday.. Vegas

Look at your activity tab. You will see on May 6th the exchange happen. Take the value and divide it by the amount of tilray shares. That will give you the average.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 10:59am
Though there will be other calculations needed if I'm not mistaken. It's a little funny that I'm not the best at math yet deal with numbers all the time when trading lol.
Comment by Shazam57 on May 09, 2021 11:25am
Actually, don't rely on me lol. I probably made a miscalculation lol.
Comment by CentreIce24 on May 09, 2021 11:44am
Hi Vinny I would be interested to know if your avg cost per share is the same in each of those accounts. I willing to say they are not I have 2 accounts (TFSA & CASH) with TD and my avg cost per share is different in both. Believe your account or accounts that were closer to receiving a full share (smaller fraction) will have a lower avg cost per share Seems to have something to do with the ...more

You guys are going too far with stupid calculation. Only way they can do it right is to close the Apha and use that proceedings to buy the Tilray shares. Since your cash didn't change and the number of shares is the rounded fractions, the average cost per share is the one that can be different. But that don't matter, because you gained that while closing Apha.
Comment by Vinny57 on May 09, 2021 4:37pm
My average costs are slightly off. (just a few cents) but my number of shares converted exactly.
Comment by Paray99 on May 09, 2021 12:59pm
I don't have any issues with TD either.

Comment by Ronbromleygross on May 09, 2021 3:20pm
Vegas 63 Maybe it was the extra wine beer and whiskey you had last night that caused the calculations to not work out correctly- lololo Just joking - all is good  Ron

My amount of shares are ok, but they increased my average by over 3 dollars per share.  I phoned CIBC, and the guy said, that is the way it should it should be, it's correct, and I said something is wrong.  He started to laught, and said you got taken, and hung up.  Even with Friday's gain, I'm over $900. in the hole.  My average went from $17,35 to $20.90 Cdn ...more

Cibc fumbled completely screwed over the tsx shares. I wish I could tell you there was someone to call. See what you can do contacting your financial advisor but she will tell you it's not her department. Leave Cibc. I am Monday and I can't wait
