BREAKING NEWS; Per sources, mass layoffs at MSO Curaleaf began on Thursday (and will continue through Monday), as Massachusetts Department of Health (DPH) reportedly also recently fined the company for an out of compliance radiation machine at Webster cultivation facility.

After speaking to multiple sources Friday, I can confirm that massive layoffs began at industry giant Curaleaf on Thursday across multiple states, with further staff to be let go when they arrive to work on Monday.

Those layoffs, (including Massaschuetts), come as officials with the Commonwealth’s Department of Health (DPH) were reported to have fined Curaleaf for failing to maintain an active certification on a radiation machine being used on cannabis flower at its Webster, Mass., cultivation facility.

Officials with the DPH were not immediately available to comment on Friday afternoon.

Infamously, in January of 2023, Curaleaf was subject to a barrage of news coverage after  international headlines (and local journalists) reported that regulators in at least three US states were probing the company for its ties to sanctioned Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

Massaschuetts regulators, in particular, were also reported in 2023 to have been investigating Curaleaf’s Webster cultivation facility related to concerns surrounding that radiation machine(along with an allegedly unlicensed human-research lab in the city of Newton).

While regulators with the Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) eventually cleared Curaleaf of having had to report its funding from Russian oligarchs –noting that such investments do not constitute “ownership or control” under existing state regulators– further reporting in this outlet indicated that the CCC also had their investigatory prowess focused squarely on the cannabis being grown by Curaleaf in Webster.

That cannabis, according to pictures leaked on on social media and at the center of an internal agency discussion, was allegedly dangerously contaminated with mold and bud-rot.

“It almost feels like [Curaleaf] is getting ready to leave Massaschuetts, kind of like when they left California [Oregon, and Colorado in January of 2023,]” said one source, not authorized to speak on the record about internal, ongoing, company conversations as of Friday afternoon.

If the Cannabis Control Commission is aware of the DPH fines related to Curaleaf’s radiation of cannabis flower with an unpermitted RadSource machine is unclear.

I can confirm that, at the very least, a February, 2023, cross-departmental press briefing between the DPH and the CCC covered the topic. What

Been on Cannabis Stocks for years now.  I'll stick with TLRY for the long-haul based on a few things: 1) They have Alchol sales backing them up 2) I have tested (or had tested) many of their best products and see them as appealing to the market 3) They have a notable amount of sales numbers that have yet to appear in QTR reports.  I also believe there is more cost-savings to ...more

I agree with you Q! Much better buy and looks like a firm base of $2. Great time to add.  7) Germany and Europe opening up soon with a firm foothold for TLRY.  8) Growth and Innovation 9) not shy to think outside the box when times are tough.  10) No scandals  Cheers V
