Tilray Brands - German Cannabis Legalization Update

How big is Germany's medical cannabis market?

According to Prohibition Partners, Germany represents half of Europe's medical cannabis market, with 2023 sales of approximately €390 million ($427 million) to over 230,000 patients. Dec 29, 2023

NOTE: Current German Medical Cannabis Market requires DRs prescriptions as well as a narcotics prescription, that has to be updated and re-prescribed with regular Drs office visits.
Medical Cannabis is covered by German Health Insurance.
97% of Germans have Health Insurance.

Under new law April 1, 2024 -  Medical Cannabis

"Medical cannabis should be legally clearly separated from cannabis for non-medical purposes. Medical cannabis is therefore not regulated in the Cannabis Act, but in a separate Medical Cannabis Act. The content of the existing regulations on medical cannabis remains essentially unchanged. Medical cannabis may continue to be prescribed as a medicine in accordance with the applicable social law requirements. However, a prescription for a special narcotic prescription will no longer be necessary in the future. A regular recipe is sufficient here." (One step above 'over the counter')

Bloomwell CEO has predicted German Medical Cannabis Prescriptions will increase 10 fold within 12 months.

Curaleaf CEO predicts German Medical Cannabis will grow within 18 months to be 4 times larger than Florida's Medical Cannabis market.

Aphria/TLRY, ACB, Demecan etc have had a relationship for years.  Furthermore, German company Cansativa has become the sole distributor of all cannabis grown in Germany. The contract forecasts production of 10,400 kilograms for four years

The immediate benefits will go to the companies with existing business relationships in country.  TLRY / CGC / ACB just to mention a few. The market is grossly under valuing this sector IMHO considering the global demand for cannabis and cannabis related ...more
