Tilray Brands German Market by

Have to agree with Maersk (CircleK) on Tilray Brands and Cansavita.
Unlimited production in country now for Tilray, Aurora and Demecan.

However, the evolving development of the market brought Germany to start to grow medical cannabis in the country. After the Federal Government chose the Canadian companies Aphria and Aurora and the German cannabis company Demecan as the only three domestic growers in 2019, German-grown medical cannabis has become availablefor purchase and sale by local pharmacies for the first time in July 2021.

Furthermore, German company Cansativa has become the sole distributor of all cannabis grown in Germany. The contract forecasts production of 10,400 kilograms for four years.

RE:Tilray Brands - German Cannabis Legalization Update

Looks like Cansativa has the market all sewn up, and more....

Cansativa has a network of approximately 2,000 pharmacies domestically; they currently supply around 300,000 patients in Germany's medical market.

"Unlimited production in country now for Tilray, Aurora and Demecan."   And any other company that wants to grow cannabis in Germany. The goal is to reduce Germany's reliance on imports, and since Cansativa is the sole distributor for German-grown cannabis, it begs the question of how much market share will remain for CC Pharma, or what the overall medical market will be ...more

Maersk, please list all the "others" that are producing in Germany.  Did you know recreational cannabis is delayed in Germany. Maybe 5 years? Germany has so far issued licences to cultivate medical cannabis to Aurora, Demecan and Tilray. These licence holders currently produce only small quantities whilst cumulatively capable of producing around 80m tonnes a year. In a recent paper domestic cultivator Demecan argued that, due to legal constraints outlined below, its adult-use market would have to be supplied solely ...more

As Maersk stated, Canstavia has the market sewn up in Germany with access to over 3000 pharmacies and 300,000 patients.  Tilray, Aurora and Demecan can cultivate 80m tons of medicinal Cannabis in Country, combined. The only 3 with a licence to cultivate in Country. There were 79 applicants to cultivate and 3 where chosen in the end.  The biggest and most unexpected change for Germany ...more

Ventura what this fellow is trying to mislead others is by suggesting the German Medical Cannabis supply and distribution is going to be wide open. The Wild West. The Canabis Act was passed Aug 16, 2023. These questions were asked and published after law passed from the CanG law: Medical cannabis 41. Will Medical Cannabis still be available in pharmacies with a  prescription?  ...more

I do know that commercial recreational cannabis is delayed by 5 years, but non-commercial is just around the corner. Only 3 licensed growers at present, but I expect that will change very soon:   "Currently, Germany allows the cultivation of cannabis only under very strict conditions. The plant needs to be grown in bunker-like buildings under high-security guidelines ...more

Yup, "The Wild West" . Kinda like New York State, right? Wont happen in Germany. How soon, Maersk? 6 months, 1 year, maybe 2? Hahaha  I guess Tilray, Aurora and Demecan would just have to expand their operations as demand picks up.  Key words So, once cannabis is legalized, these rules could be relaxed to create better growing conditions in Germany to cover demand ...more

Tilray was granted a 4-year contract for cannabis cultivation in 2021. Do you think that Germany will restrict new contracts to only the existing growers? I would bet against it.
