gold to new all time high   up over 40$ and what do the gold stocks do? So damn unloved !!

True, its an unloved, overlooked sector, but fundamentally some gold mining companies are going to do it right and make good money at curent gold price.  No certainties but a capable management team goes a long way. Hopefully Mexico plays nice and lets this sector flourish.   Wait and see.
