Shorts

Unfortunately, I won't be surprised if the shareprice gets slaughtered over the next two weeks. The shorts have increased to 200,000 shares. I do realize that it is a very small fraction of the overall amount of shares but the issue is the amount of buys on the bid side. Compared to the volume of shares traded and the bid I suspect the shorts will decimate this rally.
They will easily kill the price for their own benefit.
Unfortunate aspect of a thinly traded stock.
Honestly i am not sure as to why it ever occurred this high in the first place besides pure manipulation (due to the illiquidity and minimal amount of shares at ask) followed by FOMO.
Cheers

Apparently this whole rally has nothing to do with diamonds...but the company has serious traction on its iron ore deposit. Maybe the spat between china and australia makes other world deposits that much more lucrative. Put out a new presentation on Dec. 11th that had nothing but iron ore in it. spent too much time focusing on its diamond asset. EKIM

The one asset Tsodilo has proven is iron, and from their December presentation it looks like that is their current way forward, and it looks like people are finally waking up to just how valuable that is.  They have shown a deposit of 5-7 billion tons, and done a 43-101 report on just a part of it to show it is for real.  With some very reasonable estimates of further development costs ...more

I agree the iron formations are one of Tsodilo's best assets. The problem is that it's located pretty much in the middle of southern Africa. There is zero existing infrastructure to get the product to market. If the price rise has been because the MOU for the Trans Kalahari Railway is close to being finalized. Then I get it. This would get the iron over to Wallis Bay in Nambia where it can ...more

I think that is the paradigm shift. I talked to James a couple of years back and I recall him being focused on the lack of power...not being landlocked or lack of other infrastructure. The updated December powerpoint does reference power infrastructure specifically. That being said....the rally is still beyond what I imagined...but I do an extremely poor job at predicting stock prices...I gave ...more

Looks like rail upgrades are needed. A few proposed. Infrastructure needed. Probably not the same cost as Mary River Baffinland Rail construction costs. EKIM

I am a bit surprised that the Botswana government has not recognized the potential for this project as it relates to developing their natural resources.  Seems like infrastructure driven by the government would be a no brainer to develop income from what they have sitting in the ground.  The turnaround in iron ore prices is a critical peice in triggering these sorts of investments.  ...more

Long overdue reply here, but take a look at this brief summary of the keynote address by the president of Botswana at their recent Mining Indaba 2021 (https://www.miningweekly.com/article/botswana-intensifying-effort-to-attract-non-diamond-exploration-2021-02-03).  The original impetus for the Trans-Kalahari Railway was to get Botswana coal reserves to Walvis Bay, but the recovery (and now ...more

Weird volume for quite some time on this stock.  A clear anomoly since October.  Makes me thinks someone wants this badly.  The behavior appears to show someone wanting a ton of this, while trying to back off until the sellers drop their asks.  But the trend has been higher and higher buys since December.  ?????
