Seatbelts , then airbags were mandated .
How long before Full Self Driving is also mandated? Can you see the lives not lost . To equal the loss of lives . One would have to have 32 airliners crash per year in the USA , killing everyone on them to equal the lives lost from auto crashes per year . It's only a matter of time imho .

I think robo-taxi use is already starting to take off. The problem now for Tesla is competition. Waymo and Cruise are doing it successfully and Baidu already has a significant share of the Chinese market. Musk better get going on this and maintain his competitive advantage!

Tsla has no competition, zero . Geofencing is not scalable. Cybercab is scalable , globally and it's going make us share holders a great deal more money . Waymo et al won't be able to compete. Tsla already has a fleet of cars that will make money for their owners and tsla . All it takes now is to press the button when it is ready . Perhaps on 10 , 10 .

I understand what you're saying and, I hope you're right. Perhaps these companies are still quite a distance behind Tesla but, they are still there: Waymo - Cruise - Zoox - Motional - Aurora... Motional is linked to Hyundai and Aptiv. Cruise to General Motors so, these are some significant players in the automotive game. I agree though that Musk is at least 5 years ahead of everyone else.

The difference between Full Self Diving unassisted is that the other systems , that you mention are . The others use the Remote Asistance method. Our CEO has a name for what the others are doing " fool's errand " .
