My only comment is that perhaps IMG wanted to re-establish itself as a Canadian gold producer. Remember, they bought out Cambior and got assets in French Guinea, SA, as well as the Doyon and Mouska mines in Quebec. The latter are on their last legs.
Iamgold were never serious before, about establishing themselves in Canada as a gold producer, but perhaps they want to now. They are involved with the Niobec mine in Quebec, but I'm not up to par with what they're doing there.
TRR was an easy pick for gold. Close to infrastructure??
Why you may ask, why wouldm't they have gone after Osisko/Brett? I don't know, but it may have something to do with the gold grades being low.
Why not PRB or GCU. Were these too early in their stages perhaps for IMG??
Forget about any of the potential great gold deposits in Nunavut (Sabin), especially after Agnico Eagle was unfortunately affected by their Meadowbank mine.
Why didn't IMG go after RR??
Anyway, I hope another suitor does come forth for you long term TRR shareholders. Since the TRR management has dissappointed (let you down), perhaps it's time to research for the next management crew, with another company, who may, and hopefully, deliver.
We are all, hopefully, looking forward to this week, a week that gold should do well, providing Bernacke doesn't speak, and another suitor for the Cote deposit, comes forth.
