There is no doubt that they brought the shortage ahead but that might be better for the industry as a whole as new mines may open sooner with a higher sustained spot price now. I’m a bit surprised some huge hedge fund hasn’t basically dried up the entire spot market of Uranium. It’s really quite a small market and wouldn’t take that much cash to put the squeeze on and drive the price through the ...more

The stocks are doing good, but not outperforming spot at all, even though they should. That's abnormal. It feels like the sector still has a stigma associated with it.

The last mini bull market in Uranium in 2007 -2008 the price of Uranium and the associated uranium equities went almost straight up but unfortunately once Cigar lake mine figured things out everything went straight down. I believe this won’t be the case this time but I’m sure a lot of investors who bought in near the top of the last price spike maybe a little reticent about jumping in . You can’t ...more

Cigar lake did not start production until 2014. Uranium crashed when the market crashed.

Why would Uranium crash when the stock market crashed .Nuclear is basically a recession resistant industry. Uranium demand would not change. I did read that after the second flooding of cigar lake remediation efforts were under way by late 2008. The megatons to megawatts program was coming to an end but that would be positive news. In 2011 Fukushima accident basically sunk the Uranium industry ...more
