Canada's Nuclear Safety Commission has approved 2-year life extensions for 4 CANDU reactors at Ontario's Pickering Nuclear power plant to provide 2.1 Gigawatts of carbon-free energy until 2027, at which time they'll be upgraded to run another 30+ years! opg.com/story/opgs-pic

The Biden administration is working on plans to bring additional decommissioned US Nuclear reactors back online to help meet soaring demand for emissions-free electricity. Two restart projects are already underway, Holtec's Palisades nuclear plant in Michigan and Constellation Energy's Three Mile Island plant in Pennsylvania. The US Department of Energy has awarded 6 contracts (of up to $800 Million in total over 10 years) to companies to convert gaseous High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) into solid metal fuel for 2 advanced demonstration SMR's and other advanced reactors being developed for future US deployment. Yet more delays for big new Uranium mine projects as the long-delayed, multi-billion dollar Zuuvch Ovoo (7 Million lbs/yr) Uranium mine in Mongolia under development by French Orano SA won't start production until at least 2030 instead of 2026 as planned. bloomberg.com/news/articles/

Processing plant equipment shipped via Nigeria is beginning to arrive at Global Atomic's Dasa Uranium mine site in Niger as government support continues. More than 1200 metres of mine development have now been completed, and 10,000 tonnes of development ore has been brought to the surface. Some 450 employees and contractors are now on site, expected to grow to over 900 next year. Debt financing discussions with a US development bank are progressing with confirmation of the approval schedule expected in October 2024, with the bank voicing its "intention to approve a debt facility for US$295 million". O.M.GOSH, can`t the poeple in charge of the uranium buying for ALL of them   COUNT?  there is an  EMERGENCY happening here ...THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SUPPLY  going forward of URANIUM....and a hell of a lot of LEAD TIME to get it like 5 to 10 years,   2 or 3 years that you have now IS NOT LONG ENOUGH....WAKE THE  F..K UP.

So let's profit from others foolishness? Or maybe I am just an old fool for believing that Uranium will be the driving force to power the world. It certainly won't be the solar farm owned by Duke energy that was designated in Florida by Milton.  glta dyodd
