Abcourt Barvue with zinc at the time at $1.10   "The economic analysis returned an after-tax cash flow of 106.7 million Canadian dollars, an after-tax rate of return (IRR) of 20.5% and an after-tax net present value (NPV) at 8% discount rate of 41.0 million Canadian dollars. The after-tax payback period is 5.3 years."

Yes Brownbear2  The zinc price is 60% higher than when the study was done and also silver is up also and could go much higher. Even with inflation it should be more profitable. The news article lately  mentionned that out of 22 mines in production in Quebec only 2 were owned by Quebecers. Now that Elder is closing that would bring the result to only one mine in 21 is owned by Quebecers. ...more

If Sleeping Giant comes in production to replace Elder as a producing mine owned by Quebecers soon and the Quebec gouvernment gives a subsidy and lends Abcourt the money needed to restart Barvue  that would be great publicity for the gouvernment. CAQ gouvernment help restart a new mine owned by Quebecers by subsidizing and supplying the funding needed to restart a mine. Result 3 mines owned ...more
