Future Joint Venture for Forrest Kerr?
Reading today's news release "between the lines", I suspect that the Aben team may be in discussions for a joint venture agreement on the flagship Forrest Kerr project. The optionee may have requested that certain geophysics be performed on the property in advance of the jv agreement. While such an agreement would limit the upside of Aben, it would significantly decrease the risk. Drilling costs in the GT are expensive -- and there is a short season. The big players (Newmont, Barrick, Newcrest, Skeena, Others?) may be strategically staking their claims in juniors with high-potential land positions.
A jv would also enable Aben to explore other projects such as the new one in the Red Lake area. Did anyone else get the same impression from reading the news?
Disclosure: I own shares of Aben, just my opinions, not investment advice.
