LONGi plans to build a 1.2GW high-efficiency battery pilot line, and the industrialization of heterojunction is expected to accelerate
(PV-Tech News) Recently, LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Xixian New Branch Company announced the first information announcement of public participation in the environmental impact assessment of the first phase of the pilot project of LONGi Central Research Institute.
The public EIA announcement shows that the Xixian New Branch of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will be located in "Beiliu Village and Nanliu Village, Yongle Town, Jinghe New Town, Xixian New District, Shaanxi Province, south of Yuandian Avenue and north of Jinggan Third Street. The 1200MW/a project will be constructed within the scope of "Origin West 1st Road West and East Origin West 2nd Road", which is the first phase pilot project of LONGi Central Research Institute.
From the content of the announcement, it is the first phase of the new high-efficiency battery pilot project of LONGi Central Research Institute, with a construction scale of 1200MW. The pilot test and research and development of new high-efficiency batteries will be carried out. The project adopts laser cutting machine, texturing cleaning machine, PECVD, PVD, silk Screen printing machines and other equipment.
From the point of view of equipment, the professional equipment involved in the main production process of heterojunction includes cleaning and texturing machine, PECVD, PVD, screen printing machine, etc.
Zheshang Securities analysts expect the project to be related to the HJT battery pilot line, and the bidding for some equipment of the project has begun. With the gradual implementation of LONGi's 1.2GW pilot line in the future, the GW-level production line represents the gradual recognition of the HJT industry by traditional leaders (LONGi, Tongwei), marking that the heterojunction battery is expected to accelerate the industrialization.
According to incomplete statistics, at present, Tongwei, Huasheng, King Kong Glass, Singapore REC, Mingyang Intelligent, Akcome Technology and other companies have announced the expansion of GW-level heterojunction.
With the thinning of silicon wafers, the thickness is reduced from 150 microns to 120 microns, which greatly reduces the cost of silicon wafers; the multi-busbar and silver-clad copper reduce the consumption of silver paste—from 180mg/piece to 90mg/piece; and equipment reduction The simultaneous advancement of measures such as the localization of the target material and the target material will enable HJT to effectively reduce costs. It is expected that the cost of the battery end will be equal to that of PERC in 2023.
