you have to ask yourself, why would Rio Tinto buy out the 40% that dominion owned when there is only 4 more years of operation at Diavik.

yah i was thinking the same thing     i bet RIO got it for a song,  maybe a dance to but that might  have been to expensive.   lol.

It's very possible that they got a killer deal. But Rio will be on the hook for decommissioning the mine (100%) after all said and done If they don't do anything with it. We talking hundred plus million in decommissioning costs.  Rio Tinto would be better off buying the sequoia pipe for hundreds of millions and get some returns on it.
