NEWS Summary: AERO Plans Winter 2025 Drilling at Murmac
Today, Aero Energy Limited (AERO.v or AAUGF for US investors) announced plans for a winter 2025 drilling campaign at its Murmac Uranium Project in northern Saskatchewan. This program follows the high-grade uranium discovery from the summer 2024 drill campaign and will focus on the Howland Lake North target area.
Highlights:
-
High-Grade Uranium Discovery: During the summer 2024 program, drill hole M24-017 intersected 8.40m at 0.30% UO, including 1.20m at 1.79% UO, with peak values up to 13.80% UO over 0.10m. This mineralization was found just 64m below the surface in graphitic rocks.
-
Winter 2025 Program: Aero plans to drill six diamond drill holes (~900m) along the Howland Lake North graphitic conductor, targeting shallow uranium deposits identified during the summer campaign. A radon-in-water survey will be conducted in early January 2025 to refine drill targets.
-
Potential for Discovery: Howland Lake North has been identified as a promising area with anomalous uranium and elevated geochemical pathfinders. The project also includes over 35km of graphitic conductors, offering additional targets for future exploration.
2024 Drill Results:
During the summer 2024 campaign, Aero completed eight drill holes (1,685m) across key corridors. These holes revealed favorable geological settings for high-grade uranium mineralization and yielded anomalous uranium in five drill holes. Results confirmed the presence of graphitic target units with strong geochemical pathfinder associations typical of Athabasca Basin deposits.
Next Steps:
The radon-in-water survey, covering both northern and southern Howland Lake, will inform the winter drill campaign and potentially identify additional targets for exploration. Aero aims to further its understanding of the Howland Lake graphitic conductor and unlock new high-grade uranium opportunities across the project.
