GM and LG will team with Li-cycle.

The thing to understand is Li-cycle are trash pickers. They collect all types of battery material process it then send out to whoever will accept it.  Though they say they can recycle up to 95% of all battery material, they can not guarantee the purity of the product.  Without maintaining the purity it will increase defects in   the production of future EV battery.  Li-cycle has not verified their processes by an independent testing lab.  The reason why is because their process infringes on patents held by others and they do not want to release the  that information.

"The reason why is because their process infringes on patents held by others". That's a pretty speculative statement unless you are now, or were at one time, privy to such information. You speak about validation in your post, now how about validating your comment.
