Andover Mining Appoints Mr. Gerald Booth to the Board of Directors

Marketwire - Canada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Aug. 1, 2012) - The Board of Directors of Andover Mining Corp. ("Andover" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:AOX)(OTCBB:AOVTF)(FRANKFURT:R2X) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jerry Booth to the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Booth has over 40 years experience in mineral and natural gas exploration after graduating with a BSc. in Geology from Washington State University.

Mr. Booth was Manager of Alaska Exploration for Cominco in the 1970's and 1980's and spent over 24 years in exploration and development with Cominco. Mr. Booth participated in the assembly of the portfolio of world class projects once held in Alaska by Cominco; these included Red Dog, Pebble, and holdings in the Ambler District.

Mr. Booth as Manager of Alaska Operations led the exploration and pre-development of the Red Dog Mine in North West Alaska. The arrangement between the Nana Regional Corporation and Teck Resources Limited has created one of the largest zinc mines in the world and the largest in the United States, producing approximately 73% of annual US zinc production and an important part of the Alaskan economy.

Mr. Booth also served as VP Resources for the Cook Inlet Regional Corporation that is owned by the native peoples in South Central Alaska.

Mr. Booth was first in the Ambler District in 1973 with fellow Andover Director, Dr. Stuart Jackson, exploring the District for Cominco. He negotiated the purchase of the Ambler properties for Cominco from Anaconda in 1985.

Mr. Booth also worked closely with Andover Director, Willie Hensley, who was head of the Nana Regional Corporation during the development of the Red Dog Mine.

Mr. Booth stated, "It is going to be exciting to be working with fellow Directors and old friends, Dr. Stuart Jackson, Willie Hensley and Andover COO Kent Turner and the rest of the Andover team in the development of the exceptional Ambler District in Alaska."

Gordon Blankstein, Andover Chairman states, "We are very pleased to have Jerry join our team. Jerry has been through the process of an Alaska State funded road and port project to Red Dog and his knowledge and experience will be very valuable as the Ambler District and the Road to Resources Project driven by Alaska Governor, Sean Parnell moves forward."
