The above was posited on the basis that this is what can happen when the intrusion is in a carbonate-rich environment.

Skarns and Intrusives form together Magma (carrying metals) from the intrusive flows up up through porous limestone and faults as it cools the limestone become skarnified and hold the minerals.   Skarns are considered sweeteners, they are however far smaller than intrusives.
