guess who holds the patent for medical marijuana?
I don't purport to be an expert on patent law and or how it translates internationally but it is the US government that holds the patent for medical marijuana. There have been some interesting documentaries on tv the last little while on msnbc and cnn that are very enlightening and informative. one had sanjay gupta (doctor) recognizing that marijuana has medical merit. at one time if my memory serves me correctly, he was opposed to its usage. the other one I watched was pot barons of Colorado which gives some good insight into recreational demand as well as medical usage in Colorado. the education process is taking hold for medical marijuana which means that companies like bedrocan are succeeding in proving the benefits of their products for legitimate medical situations to doctors and the scientific community. the political forces are in a conundrum over producers and want to be producers as they sort out how to control the mmpr burgeoning industry. the recreational consumer is already supplied by the underground market but I believe these consumers would rather have legal access at a storefront or online buying rather than slinking around behind a dumpster to meet your dealer. As an investor you need to place your bet on the company you think will succeed. I'm betting on bedrocan! this conjecture is my own as are my opinions and I try to provide useful, informative posts to be an asset to this board but I enjoy reading other postings. Fab, Carrieon come to mind as being serious posters. keep up the good work of spreading the news. glta and dyodd

You are not allowed to patent a plant, you don't see gov patenting fruits and veggies lol so that will be the day I honor that patent lol

Disturbing as it may seem, there are patented strains of genetically engineered agricultural crops - Monsanto "roundup ready" ones for example. But in the more wholesome field of medial marijuana I'm sure they stick to more natural methods, and that is a good thing.
