With the Feb injunction potentially opening up tens of thousands of MMPR eligable clients in one decision, that would give the industry a well needed boost of clients just as production is ramping up, and capable of supporting them.  The election in 2015 will also be a catalyst for exponential client growth should the Liberals win.  If you want to wait for the win first, you will have ...more

Further on the cashflow issue, rent of $685,000 annually kicked in on Jan1 (cash burn with no revenues til at least Q2 assuming license, most likely Q3) with a potential it will increase based on $10 million CAPEX required/committed. That doesn't factor in any over head costs of running the facility. Great reputation overseas, but they still have to replicate here. Sure its easy, even Target ...more

You can go to SEDAR and look at financials - likely on Bed's website as well. The lease commitment is in the notes. I think you could trade these and any positive news for the sector could move all the LP's. (up or down). I think in long term will drift down due to cash burn but my opinion (for most LP's). I thought about gambling some money on Supreme given their investment and hype ...more

People got BURNED hard in March/Arpil 2014 after all the pink sheet companies were having their sky high stock values crash to the ground much quicker then people thought. More people got burned on high IPO's of TWD/BED/OGI. I have no doubht there will be a surge of hype coming down the pipe in 2015.  The question is how will these prices hold up until then.

I think most will agree the industry will do well over time.  I'm certainly a long holder on MJ stocks.  However I still expect BED to produce decent returns faster then all my other investments. I hope I'm right too!!

Intreresting questions Magicbeans and well thought out reply Tweedlede. I do not get too caught up in the pricing of BED's product. I did a breakdown in an ealier post that shows that BED's pricing is acutally cheaper than street pricing for their higher end quality product and with their Patient Assistance Program for low income patients it becomes even more cost effective. (Monthly ...more

You're entire argument is flawed when in context to Bedrocan.  You are talking about an open recreational market here, where choice is given to the consumer.  Choice for MEDICAL MJ is dictated by the physiscian.  Doctors are mostly comfortable prescribing in a manner that Bedrocan only provides.  And for that reason, Doctors will prefer to deal with bedrocan.  If you ...more

I agree that it would be a huge waste not to participate in recreational sales.  That being said, they do not participate in recreational sales in the Netherlands, which as we all know has recreational MJ.  That being said, they also are the only producer of Medical MJ in the Netherlands, so this might be why they dont see a need.  Being in a much crowded North American market might ...more

I am going to expand on what Tweedlede is getting at in terms of what is acceptable or not to a physician considering writing a prescription for a patient. It took me over 2 frustrating years fighting with my Doctor about trying MMJ. He was perfectly happy writing me prescriptions to accepted Pharma drugs- but refused to write one for MMJ for me to try. I finally got fed up and luckily the the ...more

In terms of investment: one of the factors I look at is indeed uniformity. This will be used as a marketing point to drive sales and for consumer branding / retention, acceptance and legitimization with Doctors. Also for any future legalization purposes - once HC and the government is satisfied with their very stringent requirements. As long as everyone remembers that Medical users are different ...more

Excellent post! My sentiments exactly. There will be failures and/or consolidation - tough question today is which horse you bet on. Who will have access to further cash when they run out, dilution aside. And as failures begin, raising cash will become more difficult. Time will tell.
