Global Warming- the real threat to LBN/Sockeye not the mine

LBN need to ask - What is the value of their new timber rights if fire destroys the trees? Answwer ZERO!

Here is a link to the current fires in BC. And, we haven't even reached the peak fire season yet.

https://bcfireinfo.for.gov.bc.ca/hprScripts/WildfireNews/Fires.asp?Mode=normal&AllFires=0&FC=0

Only 1.6% of Lake Babine sockeye are from the Morrison arm. Plus most of these sockeye are from Morrison Creek, which means they swim downstream to Lake Babine to grow before heading out to sea. The net result is that LESS THAN 1% of Lake Babine sockeye will be impacted at all from Morrison!

And how many times does the EAO have to conclude that the mine is safe and that water quality guidelines will be met?

It is so frustrating that the government and LBN are not looking at the science and in this case the big picture. I was at the mine site 15 years ago and already there were large patches of pine beetle infested, reddish brown timber thoughout the Lake Babine area. FYI for those who do not know, the pine beetle is normally kept under control by several consecutive days of freezing winter temperatures. THE PINE BEETLE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING!

The next phase is already taking place with multiple forrest fires. My inlaws in the interior cannot even golf because the air quality is so bad right now. WHAT PART OF SMOKEY AIR DO PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND?

LBN can improve their quality of life for themselves, and their children, and their grandchildren. Instead they are denying the obvious and focusing on a tiny quantity of sockeye. If the government are scared of LBN and give in to their requests, LBN will win a tiny, nonsense, 1% sockeye battle and LOSE THE WAR, and in the process let down their descendants opportunity for a better quality of life.

Sorry to vent, but it is so frustrating to read total BS on this board. And I am in no way anti-FN. I have already revealed that I lived on a reserve for a couple of years and that a famous FN shaman saved my mother's life and a native friend's mother saved mine. If for a second I thought that the mine posed a threat to LBN, I would have never, ever gotten involved.
