Newbie Investor Here...

Hello everyone...

I spent the morning making you long term and patient holders a bit richer.

Boy is this stock hard to buy!!! Am in with 1400@29$ avg. Had to push the ask all the way to 30$ to initiate my position ##%$&%#. I don't feel this is expensive at all though, given the recent past financial performance and, more significantly, the future performance this stock has to offer. I really like the sector too. In this current market of (still) super high penny stock valuations, this one stands out as a gem.

Anyway, I got here by spying on my friend BCdude's holdings. We're in the SPOT rocket ship together (excuse the hyperbole).

Cheers!

Hen

Nice to see you here, Hen. I've been watching this one since last June -- dipping my toes in for 300 shares during that time -- but haven't been talking about it since it's nearly impossible to buy. Long term, I can imagine this being multiples of the current share price. It's a very unique company. Industry leading IP, insanely small float and focus on high-margin recurring ...more

Hi BCdude, Regarding the low float: I think it would be a really good idea for management to consider doing a split of he stock, something like a 3 or 5 for 1 split, They have the earnings to support the share price. An increase in liquidity would be useful as I think many might stay away from the stock because of the difficulty in trading it, Any one here as management's ear and can suggest ...more

It's true that a low float can disuade investors as much as a high float can. Will be interesting to see if management considers a stock split for the future. As per share revenues increase, I could see that being a decent move.

If I may be the devils advocate here on a stock split.     We had the consolidation a few years ago, there was much negative noise then that this was a disaster, I actually spoke to Peter and David and I learned to understand the strategy.  They had their reasons as well as a good plan going forward, I don't think any of us dare argue that they ...more

Completely agree, Shark. There will be no stock split here.  It just happens to be very tightly held by insiders and others like me who have held for years because we believe in the amazing future for these technologies. That they have been able to do so well during these uncertain times in the mining industry shows how well management's plan is working out. Management is pacing ...more

There are pluses and minuses to a small float size, and I lean heavily toward smaller floats for sure. Any smallcap with more than 200 million shares is usually enough to keep me away, and I prefer less than 50 million. Having said that,1.3 million shares fully diluted is extremely tight. On one hand, these shares could end up being like gold since there is a limited number of shares and no more ...more

I'm sure Management read BQE's Stockhouse BB. But they did a 1 for 100 consolidation, so I'm unsure why they would suddenly change the situation. By the way, you say "I think many might stay away from the stock because of the difficulty in trading it.". People don't stay away from Gold because of its price!

I'm actually not advocating that management do anything at this point. I think it will become more of an issue once the share price starts creeping up into the high double digits, as that will likely keep some retail investors away. Ovbiously this doesn't matter with some namebrand stocks, but I know a lot of companies I've been hesitant to buy into once their price reaches a cerain ...more

Well, I'll persist and go on the record to say it's time for a 5 for one split here. A consolidation is a smart idea for a company that went through a rough patch and has a gazillion shares outstanding BUT sees positive earnings in the future. So I applaud what BQE did as it has delivered in spades on the earnings' front. A reverse spit is rarely successful but they've pulled it ...more
