Until March...

Knowing Dr. Deborah Rathjen's very careful use of words with respect to both what is said and not said, it wouldn't surprise me that when she says that Bioasis's "remaining cash reserves will allow it to continue operations only until approximately March 2023," that she means precisely that.

She may already know that Bioasis will default on the next CFSA payment and that it's highly likely that in the first few days of March Lind will foreclose on all of the loans under the "event of default" clause. The process of acquiring all Bioasis assets will likely also begin in that first week of March.

After the obligatory hand-wringing and expressions of sorrow are complete, there may be a brief deathly silence, followed by an announcement of the rolling back of Bioasis shares, 50 into 1 or something, leaving a couple of million almost worthless shares outstanding. The coup de grace will be an offer from somebody to acquire Bioasis for a couple hundred thousand bucks, or the company will be wound down.

The only remaining question will be who among the OLD AND NEW Bioasis team members have followed xB3 to its new destination, a private fund that will make billions from it.

The CSFA payments of C$125,000 must be made every month from now on, and the promissory notes must be paid by June 30.  I do not believe that any company currently in an agreement with Bioasis will enter further agreements with Bioasis unless and until Bioasis has financial stability.

Is there a shareholder who will loan Bioasis the money to buy enough time to right the ship? There are a few shareholders with money sufficient to do it without pain. If Lind and Midatech were paid off, then that shareholder or some other lender could put a claim on Bioasis assets in the loan agreement. What about partners? Chiesi could do a BD, a loan, an equity investment or a combination of any of these. Protalix could do it. Any pharma could do it in the ways that Takeda funded Denali. It could be done.

But I don't think it will be done. I think for some people the countdown to a big win in March has now begun. And I think they'll win and they'll laugh for the rest of their lives about it. And they should be ashamed of themselves.

jd, is all of what you are saying really necessary?  You can't know or predict if any of this will come to pass with any certainty. No one really knows.  "But I don't think it will be done. Yes. It was necessary. There is an urgency, G1945V.  I didn't make this up nor did I cause it but I saw it from miles away. To save Bioasis there must be some outside interest or force that immediately comes forward and pushes Bioasis management into action and publicly states their intentions to fix this. I don't believe that will happen.  Other interests will likely have this ...more

Sorry, but this is still pure speculation on your part. G1945V

Everything for years and years on this board has been speculation. The company has accomplished nothing. As i mentioned, it is amazing to me how long this board has been discussing a company that has done nothing. People just throw out hypotheticals and speculations based on nothing. What we do know though is that BTI has nothing in the clinic after all of these years. They have no money. They can ...more

zwerp2000, Aarcor, the "merger" was not speculation. It took a year and more to set up. The setup was something that was actually done, no speculation about it. Midatech and Bioasis shareholders were not voting on a speculation. The legal documents are on SEDAR.   There are only two basic intellectual properties owned by Bioasis - xB3 and Cresence EGF. There are several other ...more

If course it's speculation, G1945V. Duh! Somebody could step forward and save Bioasis. Altruism can exist alongside self interest.  Bioasis has signalled that they have enough funds "approximately March 2023." They didn't say until the end of March likely because that would be inaccurate.  Maybe somebody should write the story all out and submit it to regulators ...more

poof, the J&J extension "news" has been told to me by several shareholders who claim they heard it from Bioasis. You can make the same call. And it was an extension of an option, not an exercising of the option. Without funding, it won't make any difference. The promise of the full loan of $750,000 was described in the Information Circular as being on Midatech's best-efforts ...more

Well, there ya go, poof. I guess if the payment from Janssen was enough to offer some real relief to Bioasis, to take Bioasis beyond March, that would be material, certainly material, in these dire times. No press release?  I guess the guidance of "approximately March 2023" still stands. No? Yes? jd

I used the phrase, "Well, there ya go" in my last post. That was Rob Hutchison's great line. Often when a caller made a statement about Bioasis to him, he would answer, "Well, there ya go." Even if the statement was wrong, that was his response. I always figured that with that response, the caller was free to think what he wanted, even if it was batdirt crazy. jd

I have been investing (?)  for about 45 years ! True story carried over my entire life. When I was a preschooler  I believed in Santa Claus  of course And I would ask my mom about what I was getting forChristmas  and she always said the same thing ...... ....Don't ask me any questions and I will tell you no lies! That always stayed with me all these years! So ...more
