Today, Grid Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: CELL, OTCQB: EVKRF) released promising soil sample results from the initial phase of its autumn exploration initiative at the Texas Springs Property near Elko, Nevada.
Grid Battery Metals' Texas Springs Lithium Property is strategically located adjacent to the southern boundary of the Nevada North Lithium Project, owned by Surge Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: NILI, OTC: NILIF). Surge's previous drilling efforts uncovered highly mineralized lithium-bearing clays, with an average lithium content of 3254 ppm in near-surface clay zones during the 2022 drilling campaign.
Surge recently reported exceptional results from its Nevada North Lithium project, reaching up to 8070 ppm lithium during its latest drilling program. Subsequent drilling revealed core drilling intercepts with assays exceeding 7,630 ppm, further solidifying the lithium-rich potential of the area.
The soil sample results from Grid Battery Metals Inc. indicate significant findings. The Texas Springs Lithium Property exhibits an average lithium grade of 2010 ppm, and high-grade zones have been identified in both the northern and southern regions of the property. Particularly noteworthy is the clear presence of a high-grade lithium zone in the northern part of the project area, aligning with Surge's previously identified high-grade soil samples to the north.
The soil sampling effort revealed six samples with lithium grades surpassing 3000 ppm, and a comprehensive total of 810 samples were collected, ranging widely from 10 ppm to 5610 ppm, suggesting that Texas Springs may contain mineralization extending from the Nevada North Lithium Project.
Grid Battery Metals' President & CEO, Tim Fernback, expressed optimism about the results, stating, "Now that the first phase of the exploration program is complete, we plan to gather as a group to interpret the geological data and plan our next steps at Texas Springs for the upcoming 2024 exploration season."
