Well-site Remediation Program to take affect soon.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau introduced the Well-site Remediation Program to the Canadian public a short time ago. The federal government has made $1.1 Billion available to the western Canadian provinces for the purpose of the remediation of old and abandoned well-sites and is expected to generate about 5700 jobs in the oil patch and put oil and gas service companies back in business. There are thousands of old and abandoned or orphan wells that require remediation so it should keep these companies busy for a while, at least until the money runs out. Cordy Oilfield Services has a unit that specializes in oil well remediation and reclaimation of well sites so this opportunity couldn't have come at a better time for the company. It will be nice to see them getting back to work in the patch on a full time regular basis. I hope that they will be one of the companies to get the nod from the Province of Alberta and the governments of BC and Sask. The Premier of Alberta announced, today during the Alberta COVID-19 update, that applications will open come Monday, if I heard right, for oilfield services companies to take part in the well-site reclaimation program.
