Cielo Correspondence from COO Regarding Desulphurization

See below for correspondence from the Cielo COO, that I received today.

Personally, I think it's great that Lionel Robins was appointed as the COO.

Cielo should be receiving the catalyst from China in a few weeks.

Cielo is fabricating the desulphurization equipment in Western Canada (not receiving this from China).

I believe that Cielo's progress during the last few months has been impressive.

This excellent progress has been achieved during a global pandemic.

GLTA,

Sam

"Thanks for your email Sam.

The major part of the catalyst order is on the way from China and expected in the next few weeks (although with current international shipping constraints it’s tough to nail down an exact time).  In the meantime we have asked for a smaller quantity to be air freighted to us, so that we can continue utilizing the bench scale desulfurization equipment already in place.

The commercial-scale equipment is being fabricated right here in western Canada, so no issues on that end with shipping delays.

Regards,

LIONEL ROBINS | Chief Operating Officer

Just curious, would you happen to know which part of the process is patented? I think I might have wrongly assumed that the catalyst was also patented/proprietary, so I am surprised to hear it's coming from China. Based on Don's comments in interviews about not wanting to open plants in countries where they can't protect their intellectual property, I have to assume that the catalyst ...more

The process that converts waste to diesel is what is patented and that is what Cielo has licensed from a 3rd party. The catalyst used in that process is readily available zeolite. The desulphurization process is not patented. The catalyst for desulphurization is imported because China is the largest producer of rare earths in the world. In an industrial hydrodesulfurization unit, such as in a ...more

Our CFC 700 System uses a low temperature, catalytically driven refining process. The proprietary zeolite catalyst provides chemical reaction and thermal hydrocracking of long-chain carbon molecules at temperatures and pressures much lower than those of traditional crude refineries. This is a tremendous savings in terms of required energy, cost to produce, safety and environmental impact. Our ...more

No, catalyst is not patented, oil and non oil plants use catalyst. It's being used to speed up the reaction . But if an equipment, a system, a technology that uses a catalyst differs from others, such as turning garbage to diesel, it can be patented, but not the catalyst2.
Comment by DougInGreen on Apr 05, 2021 9:22pm
Not sure if LSCFA meant to say proprietary the second time as in the first post mentioned Zeolite is readily available. There are definitely some big areas where I haven't done proper due dilligence, but have purchased shares based largely on these two pieces of information. - Something about the trash to diesel process is proprietary since they can take waste streams that others cant ...more

great work Sam   1 thing  Why isnt it made in Canada besides the obvious COST  you would think with frieght how much cheaper to make there then here. They should be ordering from us as they are the biggest poluters
Comment by sam2100 on Apr 05, 2021 7:45pm
Good question Vitalina.  I'm not sure if Cielo would address this question since the answer could provide information about their proprietary process.

keep up the good work Sam.  I usually develope a good relationship with I.R.  Thanks for passing comments along. I don't want you to jepordize your relashinship with COO so i took the liberty to email investor3 and directly asked him. Why are we dealing with China the biggest pollutors in the world  Stay tuned

Hey Vitalina, It's a good question, looking forward to the reply. Sam

Maybe they are or maybe they are not the biggest polluter. Have you also looked at the progress they have done and continously been doing in curving down pollution , making barren lands suitable for agriculture, you're just one sided and biased just so you can say something against Cielo?  You can also ask why tesla and apple deal with China? You can also ask why  hollywood films ...more

If i read and uderstand it right, that " catalyst" mentionee by Cielo is  that substance used to speed up a chemical reaction, in this case for hydrotreaters and desulphurizations perhaps.  The catalysts we used in our company are imported or made from foreign countries like germany or indonesia with distributors in the US. If these catalysts are the catalysts that cielo is ...more

Is there a market for the by product of the desulphurisation?(sulphuric acid ) or they will have to pay to get rid of it? toughs?
Comment by ClemFandango on Apr 10, 2021 1:16pm
I think I heard they may be able to use it in fertilizer.
Comment by Kpitreal on Apr 10, 2021 9:33pm
Pretty sure the residue can be used as fertilizer. Don covered that recently. Win win win $CMC

See 5:30 min. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BygNSAvEoA CEO:  8% waste stream sulphur, which could be used as fertilizer. I'm very confident that Cielo will highly prioritize finding the use for the sulphur since they want to build one of the greenest companies on the planet.  So, Cielo will then be able to say;  no toxic compounds produced by their plants and 100% of the ...more
