LOL! You're asking on stockhouse why competitor ceo.ca doesn't update daily? Okay, that's just funny. But, FYI, iiroc publishes short positions twice per month. Last was July 15 th , next is as at July 31 and should be published/posted today or Monday.  Monday was a holiday for our markets and iiroc.  Iiroc is the only true source of short position data so try checking their ...more

I'd be more concerned about hedgies, arbs and Nicky the Nose than penny flippers. The vig on those converts was a chunky 15% off the top. So Nicky the nose and his loanshark hedgefund/mezzanine financiers will be quick to lock in profit on those converts once the stock trades above the conversion price. They'll be tempted to lock in using shorts offsetting the debs until the debs are ...more

Penny flippers may keep the price from rising when they sell, but they also keep the price from falling when they buy.  They have little overall impact on the long-term nature of the stock.  They don't create the trends.  They just take advantage of them.  When the stock is ready for a dramatic rise, penny flippers won't inhibit it.
