Could this be why there's no deal yet on Glencore MOU

According to this article, Glencore wants to extend the mine life at Kidd Creek rather than wind it down in 2023. And if I recall CNC was going to start using one line until they were able to ramp up and gain access to the full use of the concentrator as Kidd winds down. But wouldn't Glencore need full use of the concentrator if they extend the life of the mine? Or maybe they don't require the full use of the concentrator so CNC can share it with them? What am i missing?

Hey endzone, I still can't open this article in stockhouse but this is the one. Someone posted a similar article to clarify the one i posted but it was dated 2019. Can you or anyone confirm that this is old news. I'm only asking cause it's dated June of this year but i don't know if it's refering to old news or if this is considered new. Also they make reference that Glencore ...more

Here is a working link (a www. was missing and the site for some reason isn't able to do a proper re-direct). Glencore approves further drilling in hopes of extending Kidd mine life

Strangest link problem but looks recent to me. Not sure it would effect us getting the deal done as we only needed one pad/ concentrator I thought for the pilot mine until on site one was built. Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not a pro on Glencore setup. Maybe idlefreebird could elaborate?

1. Isn't the KIDD concentrator already running at 50% so even with extending the life there is still capacity left? 2. Timing: I believe the mining method is UG stoping and looking at one of Glencore's reource reserves my guess is they would have to dig another 800 metres down. I have no idead but could that involve a lot of additional preparation? (e.g. moving haulage level, crusher, re ...more

The points you guys bring up is what I'm trying to figure out. I have a feeling that that's the reason for the delay. Positive or not I'm not sure. I thought Mark was starting with the one line about 3000/t a day and eventually moving to the max. I believe 4 lines to about 12000/t a day... If Mark thought he would eventually have use of the entire site and now not, then he would have ...more
