Trudeau is making an old Soviet USSR Mistake!

In my grade 12 Geography class, our teacher was telling us a tale from the Soviet Union. The Central Government of the USSR determined there was a need and a market for ... Hosehold table lamps. So they massed produced Millions of them, and they sold out quite quickly. However, they forgot to plan for one major factor. Lamps are useless without lightbulbs. They made millions of lamps, but no light bulbs for those lamps.

Trudeau is giving Billions ot VW and Stellantis to build factories to build EV batteries. However, his critical minerals strategy to secure the minerals the factories need to produce those batteris is what? Pennies on the subsidy dollar!

Like I said, the USSR discovered that lamps are useless without light bulbs!

Craving Profits, here's the article I was referring to. Specifically the paragraphs at the end: A trillion-dollar payday in the making as Ontario’s EV supply chain takes shape at a remarkable pace | The Star The big-ticket battery plants have obscured the sole major holdup in a genuine supply chain, Canada’s slothful approach to critical minerals extraction and processing. Build it and they will come. That's what Trudeau Senior said about the new state of the art airport at Mirabel. Unfortunately they didn't follow up with critical infrastructure to make it easy to get to that airport, and it was a dismal failure. As Mulroney said "The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree". I think the Soviet Lamp and Light Bulb analogy is spot on here. Like ...more

The big money from government starts with the big boys and works its way down. Stellantis deal is still to be worked out which is inevitable. CNC has met with all of them and we have a FS due in a month which will then set the table for deals with OEM's and government cash.    Your spin is everything negative you can think of yet you have zero opinion on the positive news of more ...more

So here we go again.  Talk of a table full of strategic partners while we wait for a looming feasibility study again?  Remember the extra long table and chairs talk a couple of years ago LOL Sell on news?  This is been dripping red from 4 bucks non stop for over a year ...more

That sums up Trudeau pretty much.  All these extreme left seem to have the same traits.  The big problem with this administration is that there has been no sound government policies.  Lot's of throwing money at things and virtue signalling and dividing people through identify politics but no sound policies. As for their distastes for mines... I think its for environmental ...more
