This getting old but fun lithium prices up πŸš€πŸ’₯πŸš€πŸ’₯

Lithium carbonate prices in China extended their rally to 247,500 yuan per tonne, amid imbalances with current global supply levels and the metal’s surging demand. Electric vehicle deliveries in China are expected to total 3 million units this year, more than double of last year’s, and forecasts point to more than 5 million sales in 2022. Meanwhile, bets on long-term scarcity of the light metal set EV manufacturers to race each other for long-term contracts, as lithium miners compete for contracts and face continued opposition from environmental groups. Mining giant Rio Tinto PLC pledged over USD 2 billion to develop lithium mines in Serbia, but backlash from protesters led local authorities to momentarily suspend the land-use plan for the mine. Elsewhere, leftist Gabriel Boric won presidential run-offs in Chile. During campaigns, the president-elect expressed plans on forming a state-owned lithium miner to manage the country’s “lithium triangle”, the world's largest reserve.

And what is the contract priof spodumene? That's what this company will be producing (hopefully) and until Phase 2 study is completed the posting about carbonate price is irrelevant. They have to sell the spodumene to chemical/converter companies that in turn will benefit from the carbonate prices.  "Existing term contracts for spodumene with Chinese lithium converters were ...more

It looks like you called it monkeyhere.. This is mind boggling! One thing I don't agree with you on though is your comment about Phase 1 FS based on spodumene prices of $1,500/t. That's not true and one can blame management's lack of marketing about it which has created even more confusion. The bulk of the volume to be produced annually (over 186K tonnes every year) is Chemical ...more

Thanks for the clarification Kakoo88! You are absolutely correct! Went back to review the presentation and noticed that on page 9 it shows they will supply Chemical grade +6% to global markets, however on page 12 FS is noted they will produce Chemical Grade 5% and the $750/t price is for 5% chemical spodumene.  Not clear if this is the same thing or the % matters?

The million dollar question (or 2.6 million share question): Who in their right mind would short this stock to the tune of 2.6 million shares with the insane volatility that could take place due to permits and partners right around the corner? Even the deepest pockets could have been wiped out.  Unless a little bird relayed a message to someone regarding timing etc you would have been ...more

Its hardly a bet when the outcome is known beforehand....  puckery.. but hell no     no manipulation here
Comment by Jordsword on Dec 22, 2021 1:47pm
This sort of thing is hard to stomach but we have to realize that at some point the manipulators will want their 10 bagger. At that point the project will be partnered and de-risked, other institutions will be stepping in and there will be nowhere to go but up. At that point our perspectives will have changed and we won't be looking back. Of course the sooner the better, getting tired of ...more

I totally agree Jordsworld that the stock will have it's day but people in the "know" are playing it at their will, there's no shortage of evidence pointing in that direction the latest being the timing of shorts etc. I've been in this forever and was initially hesitant having been bitten by Quebec juniors a couple of times before. The project was what first caught my ...more
