Where in the heck will they get all this lithium ???
Looking at Ford, their 3 new battery plants will produce 129 GW per year starting in 2026.
Tesla's Texas factory will produce 60 GW next year
Then looking at China, CATL are saying 500 GW in 2025 and SVolt 600KW that same year
Then add LG, Samsung, Panasonic, BYD, SK, ect......
The total lithium carbonate equivalent production for this year should be around 950,000 tons and that is being optimistic. In 2025 we would have to more than double worlwide production.
No way !
It make sense for China to mine Lepidolite when spodumene was going for 7000 dollars a ton, but now, not so much.
And new mines either from spodumene or brine cannot materialize in 2 years.

Even with high reliance on recycling plants.

Lepidolite becomes feasible when carbonate is around $25000-$30000/ton. And there won't be enough lithium, that's why anyone with half a clue is saying structural deficit for the the rest of the decade. Goldman Sachs are just trying to manipulate the market with their over supply BS.

Tinker I'd give you credit for having a full clue, or at least a solid 3/4s. Lol
