What is CCAA?

I had to look this up. I'm not sure why this was mentioned regards CRE? Explain please.

  "The Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (commonly referred to as the "CCAA" or the "CC, double A") is a Federal Act that allows financially troubled corporations the opportunity to restructure their affairs. By allowing the company to restructure its financial affairs, through a formal Plan of Arrangement, the CCAA presents an opportunity for the company to avoid bankruptcy and allows the creditors to receive some form of payment for amounts owing to them by the company."

It was a comment about Nemaska 2.0 where IQ reinvested after original shareholders lost everything. I felt that this was a kind of way to say that IQ planned in advance and this is there way and they invest in CRE they would do the same. I wanted to point ouf that IQ as investor or Lender is no different than others in the dame position  and some a even worst. CRE is not in this ...more
