That is an interesting thing for sure.  Maybe the deal was not perceived sweet enough anymore.  Phones will be lighting up for alternative partners/targets I imagine.

If you read the article it tells you that Gina Rhinehart, the australia's billionaire iron-ore heiress, built up a minority stake in Liontown, becoming the single largest shareholder, and blocked the deal.

ALB needs to get 75%, while Gina already has 20% and needs extra 5% to block the deal. So it's hard for ALB to get the 75%.  tiger
