Not the time to sell...

Fully understand that everyone has their own risk tolerance, but I personally don't think right now is the time to be selling as things appear to be reversing.  I was a buyer today.

"At market close today at 15:00 #China time, LC futures prices (on average) increased by 6.33%, far exceeding the average spot price of #lithium carbonate at CNY 6,422, maintaining a "contango period" and providing new hope for upward pressure on the Li price."

"As I expected, ASX #lithiumstocks refused to follow the sell-off trend of Wall Street, while Chinese peers continue the rally for 2nd day in row. Protest of indigenous groups in Chile supported the lithium sector today. Lithium futures rose, while spot prices still remain flat."

Pass the Kool-aid please..... how about.... Shame on mangement for handling CRE ( First Gold ) for the last 14 years to have any faith in this mangement is obvously detrimental to one`s retirement, I have been here since 2009 and have sold 70% of my holdings earlier this year and sit with bout 100k still showing a profit but there is something dark about this company. One question they never did ...more

I understand there is not much love for CRE management, but as I understand it they are currently negotiating with multiple large orgs.  Those orgs have their own processes, management, and red tape to work through before signing on the dotted line and shelling out hundreds of millions of dollars.  If anything, more anger should be redirected towards china with their never ending ...more

And for you the option that these parties decided to take a break and walked away is not possible? How about CRE management removal of any timeline reference? Are they transparent if that happened but they are not telling the average Joe? They had more than an year and a lot has changed, all could have been pushed few years down the road. Why no updates of the engineering progress? The magical 65% ...more

No, not possible.@ I suggest you give Patrick a call if you have these many doubts.@ I spent almost an hour on the phone with him recently and got all my questions answered.@ Very nice and knowledgable man.@ The last news release clearly stated that they continue to be on track and working towards the 2026 timeline.@ Will this date change in the future, maybe as they don@t have a crystal ball, but ...more

"According to Mining.com, lithium carbonate prices in China are expected to fall by more than 30% in 2024 from the current level, as growing supply from all major producers outpaces the rise in demand from battery users. The spot price of lithium carbonate hit a more than two-year low of 115,500 yuan ($16,185.54) per metric ton in December 2023, and is likely to drop to as low as 80 ...more

Very good post. We should not forget that Chnia lithium is now not allowed in the IRA some converters that were using China Lithium will have to go elsewhere. That could explain part of the obersupply of Li from China.
