You invest in the placement for the warrants. If you don't think the stock will be above .07 before the warrants expire, there's no reason to invest in the placement. I was just doing the math for you...

The cost of each share is .05, the cost of the warrant only factors in if excersized.  Why would you include that?

Why would you invest in the placement, if you weren't after the warrants? The warrants are the enticement to participating in the placement. And you have to include the cost of exercising the warrants in evaluating whether the placement is a good deal or not. But why would anyone invest in this placement, other than as a favor to Forde? The same $1,000 from the example would get 40,000 shares
