EVS and Climate change

EVs can really be a strong weapon in the world's efforts to fight climate change

I believe it will. https://bullish.link/CLiUF  The bill contains $369 billion in funding for clean energy and electric vehicle tax breaks, domestic manufacturing of batteries and solar panels, and pollution reduction. It is the single most important step the US has ever taken to combat the climate crisis. And arguably, it’s one of the single biggest investments ever made on climate in ...more

But nobody wants to talk about the offroad diesel mining equipment that mines battery materials which aren't subject to emission standards and the power plants where the electricity comes from to charge the EVs. So you're just burning not fossil fields you can't see. Out of sight out of mind but that's the way the woke folks like it. Yeah EVs will turn the planet around...

User dirtydzn is just a paid basher, doesn't sound like a DM investor. EV helps for a more green enviornment, thats why there is so much government initatives especially in Canada to build more EV chargers. It's a step in the right direction to improve our current climate/enviornmental issues.

Only if the power charging them is green. It's not rocket science.

I have worked with some of the largest mining equipment there is, and a huge majority of fleets out there will go electric and autonomous. EV Haul trucks are already in production and a huge majority of the shovels are electric.  These cimpatiens will be spending billions in the near future    I do agree with the fundamentals of where you source your electricity needs to be ...more

Well I worked in mining for 32 years up until 2 years ago and I have heard about shovels but not too many other peices of heavy equipment but yes over the next 50 years the electric landscape will be hugely different than what it is today. Also in 50 years when the globe has gone as much electric as it can it is then the demand on mother nature will slow down as it will only require to mine ' ...more

I believe that EV tech will be integrated n into Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles. 50 years is a long time to go green with EV. Other emerging tech like Hydrogen will have plenty of time to gain traction. It could just be green power to fuel EVs or we could see more Hydrogen powered cars. Toyota had been working on it longer than anyone has been working on electric. That being said, the same problems ...more

Great points to keep in mind regarding the political angle and "feel good consimerism"

Now if only China and India were not factored into the "world's" efforts to combat climate change then your statement may hold weight. In the meantime...!!! And that's with China being a very big user of EV's. Have you looked at all their stats lately re utilizing coal, etc. Maybe you should change your statement to say North America  and not world.
