A bit more info on this well from an earlier release in January: "Well #4 will be drilled on private land and leases with both planned wells to be drilled to the Pre-Cambrian Granite at 3,900+-, with drilling scheduled upon final permit & equipment availability. Both well #4 and #5 will be located approximately 30 miles from wells #1 & #2. The Companys geological staff believe that ...more

Many thanks HH. Very informative background. As always, the company sounds confident, but it's equally important to note that this is another exploration well, with the associated level of uncertainty. In particular, they are drilling super deep here--I'm not sure if anyone has drilled this deep before in this part of the basin, and what this means for helium content, reservoir quality etc ...more

This appears to be a permit for one well. Were we expecting the permit to be for the one well, or for three wells?

I think this is a new well permit. The news release states: "The Company anticipates drilling three new wells prior to undertaking completion procedures." My thinking is that they were waiting for Rig availablility and got another permit while waiting. Now they can drill 4,5 and 6. This news release sucks in terms of details. Someone call the company and find out please.

For a time there was a staffing issue at the Arizona Oil and Gas commission, but, even after that was resolved at the start of the month, the process dragged on. It's been as frustrating for the company as it has been for the rest of us, but thankfully we ...more

HeliumHigh and Bertie thanks a bunch for clearing that up.

They've received a permit for well 4 . Apparently the state of Arizona at a massive problem with the computer system but it's been fixed and it delayed the permits. Wells five and six should get the permits Soon.

Trifecta - from what I have seen, the Arizona Oil and Gas Conservation Commission permits each well site separately.  This new permit has not yet been posted to the AOGCC database, so I can't actually see it and the relevant details.  I would expect that the permits for wells 5 and 6 are still under application and that we'll (hopefully) learn of the issuances of the permits for ...more
