Bit of a left field announcement!! Seems like they are trying to make the max news from one well (which is fine by me)--note, they have also divested the oil acreage in Oklahoma, which is probably a good thing as it was contradictory to their clean energy image. One last thing to add: just because this announcement doesn't mention helium, it doesn't mean that none has been found. We ...more

At the very least, this means there is potential for significant by-product credits which will be additive to the He value of the wells. Importantly, the hydrogen does not impair their ability to separate He. Recall that well #2 had some H and they were going to use it as a backup fuel supply for their solar power. The He numbers at the end of the current phase of drilling will be what matters. Production level amounts is all that really matters.
